Ms. Carolyn Kamasaka is a digital health specialist with over 10 years of experience leading the design, planning, roll-out and synthesis of learning from digital health interventions in Uganda and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa. She has supported donors and development partners including the Global Fund, USAID, Rockefeller Foundation, WHO, UNICEF, CDC and the Gates Foundation to develop and deploy custom-made digital health interventions at national and sub-national levels (including at district, health facility and community levels), and to develop appropriate performance monitoring frameworks at different levels of use. Currently working with John Snow Inc. as a Digital Health Advisor, Ms. Kamasaka is also the President of Uganda Health Informatics Association and has extensive experience at both the national and sub-national levels. At the national level she has worked with the senior leadership at the Ministry of Health to coordinate digital health initiatives in liaison with health development partners. At the sub national level, she has guided implementation through designing SOPs, training of users and their supervisors, performance monitoring and synthesis of learning.

Ms. Kamasaka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a Master’s degree in Health Informatics both from Makerere University in Uganda.
