Gabriel Catan is a Digital Health Specialist at The World Bank Group, Health, Nutrition & Population Global Practice. As part of his tasks, Gabriel provides teams and country clients strategic inputs and technical assistance in digital health strategy, systems and solution implementation; digital health capacity building, supports the digital health prioritization and strategy through digital health assessments. Related with COVID-19, Gabriel is providing technical assistance in regards to digital health interventions to support vaccination roll-out. Gabriel has vast experience in the Health Industry, with a special focus on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Process Automation in health. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, after having obtained a degree in Economics from the ORT University, Uruguay. On a professional level, Gabriel has worked for the Inter-American Development Bank, has been an Economist at an important Israeli HMO, and in recent years he has been Manager for Life Sciences & Healthcare Analytics at Deloitte Israel. In this last position, Gabriel has led a group of data scientists, data engineers and business analysts with the objective of developing innovative health solutions, using techniques of artificial intelligence, big data, automation and text analysis. These projects were carried out for the Israel’s Ministry of Health, Israeli HMO, and hospitals. Likewise, he has collaborated in the development of the industry at local and international level. He has presented at various conferences in Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Israel, Portugal, Turkey, Berlin, on topics related to digital health and AI in healthcare.
