The Uganda Academy for Health Innovation and Impact (The Academy) invites all Ugandans to submit ideas in a health innovation competition. The ideas should seek to improve the lives of people living with or being affected by HIV and tuberculosis (TB).
There are over 1.5 million people living with HIV in the country and over 40,000 are being treated for TB every year. Because of this, there is a huge need for innovative ideas on how to help people get access to medical treatment and manage their condition to enable them to live full and active lives.
The Academy was formed to improve health outcomes for people living with or being affected by HIV and TB. We are confident that grassroots solutions are available to achieve lasting impact on the lives of patients in Uganda, especially those who are most vulnerable.
The winner of the ideas competition will receive a cash prize of up to UGX3,000,000 (Three million shillings only) and the two runners up will receive a cash prize of up to UGX1,500,000 each (One million five hundred thousand shillings only). This prize money will be awarded at the Health Innovation conference slated for March 23, 2018 at the Imperial Royale Hotel.
