The HASH Project

Would you like to join a network for Artificial Intelligence in Maternal, Sexual Reproductive Health?

The Academy for Health Innovation Uganda at the Infectious Diseases Institute, Sunbird AI and the Makerere University AI lab have formed a multi-disciplinary consortium through funding from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), as part of the Artificial Intelligence for Development in Africa Program (AI4D Africa). The consortium will implement an African Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub for Maternal, Sexual and Reproductive Health (MSRH). The hub is titled the HASH Project.

The HASH Project will establish a network of pan-African researchers, organizations, innovators and other stakeholders, who will work together to research and validate the use of AI and data technologies to address key challenges in maternal, sexual and reproductive health (MSRH) in Sub-Saharan Africa. Grounded in the ethical application of AI interventions, the HASH Project will also provide technical and methodological assistance to members within the network. There will also be opportunities for mentorship, collaboration and funding in the near future.

Please can you help with this important survey on AI in MSRH?

To maximize impact, the HASH Project is launching a baseline consultation with stakeholders around the African continent. This will enable us to understand the opportunities, risks and limitations of AI in MSRH, so as to align the hub with these. We also plan to publish the research findings from this consultative process, to inform the AI in MSRH landscape.

Would you kindly consider providing your input in this consultation. As a stakeholder in the digital health and/or MSRH sphere, you are an excellent informant to support the HASH Project to focus on the most crucial priorities, as we work towards improving the health of the population in Sub-Saharan Africa.
