‘Call for Life™ LITE’, which has been implemented at IDI Mulago clinic, Kasangati and Kisenyi Health Centre IV HIV adult clinics, is a mobile health platform aiming to promote healthy behaviours and adherence to treatment by providing people living with HIV with weekly support calls for treatment and visit reminders, health tips, as well as symptom management support through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and SMS functionalities. The platform facilitates information exchange and connects patients and healthcare providers, while providing key services to both.‘Call for Life™ Uganda’ builds on technology developed by Connect for Life™, which utilizes locally-relevant approaches to enhance detection, treatment, and prevention of diseases affecting vulnerable communities in under-served regions.

Janssen, the Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, created Connect for LifeTM, a collaborative program that engages the expertise of community healthcare workers, academics and patients and leverages available technologies to demonstrate a sustainable public health impact. With The Ugandan Academy, Connect for LifeTM has implemented its first programme in Uganda, focusing on HIV, TB, and maternal and child health, with potential to expand to other health areas and resource-limited settings.
