CALL FOR LIFE™ RANDOMISED CONTROLLED TRIAL

ART adherence, with consequent reduction in viral load and increase in CD4 count positively influences quality of life in those living with HIV. Attendance of clinic appointments, support mechanisms and HIV knowledge also have been shown to be predictors of good outcomes.

The Ugandan Academy is undertaking this randomised controlled trial (RCT) designed to see whether adherence, virological outcomes and HIV knowledge can be optimised, in order to give an overall increased quality of life in vulnerable populations starting or established on ART in Kampala, Uganda.

The objective of the study is to determine the effect of the Call for Life™ on the quality of life of the patients at two sites in Uganda at IDI Mulago clinic a centre of excellence in Uganda and Kasangati Health Centre II HIV adult peri-urban clinics.
