I am a Ugandan trained Social Scientist. I completed my PhD in Health Sciences in 2016, a collaboration between College of Health Sciences, Makerere University and the Department of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. I am currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Social Sciences at the Uganda Academy for Health Innovation and Impact, Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University where I have been employed since 29th January 2018.

Regarding my involvement in the study titled ‘Pictures of Ageing in Uganda Project’, I will be leading the Cross cutting work/theme, a qualitative component of the study as a Social Scientist (Qualitative Researcher). My roles and responsibilities on this project include taking part in the drafting of the protocol; designing data collection tools that will be used to conduct key informant (in-depth) interviews and focus group discussions. Additionally, I will take the lead in organizing community engagement meetings that will be held to explain the project to the people living in the target villages. I will also participate in conducting focus group discussions with purposefully selected populations and in-depth interviews with policymakers to understand their views of the pilot project and priorities for future research. Lastly, I will participate in the analysis of the qualitative data, writing up findings and dissemination of findings through research reports, publications (articles) and presentations at national and international fora.
