Capacity Building during Implementation

Prior to the award of grants to the Academy’s sub-grantees, an organizational capacity assessment was carried out by IDI. The assessment provided information on the extent of the sub-grantees’ ability to not only implement their projects but also assessed their capacity to provide adequate stewardship of the funds from the Academy.

The Academy developed a risk management strategy that is crucial in determining what measures need to be taken to strengthen the sub-grantees’ capacity in areas like financial management, procurement, ICT, etc.

Support supervision from the Academy and IDI throughout the lifetime of the project provides capacity building that addresses these gaps while monitoring progress.
